ILHV Winter 2008 Sanction
Hi All
Please find attached the sanction for the winter season. A couple of things have changed so it is a must that all clubs read through it.
We have decided to add a Bb division and reduce the C division to just C. The Bb division will be the equivalent of last seasons C1. Please keep this in mind when confirming your teams. I ask that all clubs please nominate your teams now so that we have some time to look at the fixture Any special requests by clubs should also be submitted and we will do the best we can. We are also looking at a system of the winner of each divisions Grand Final moving up a division and the bottom team in each division having the option of moving down a division.
If your club has already sent me their nominations it would be appreciated if you could just confirm that these are still correct and send me your team lists.
The senior minimum age level has also changed, it is now 15 years of age at the 1st January 2008 for Senior A & B and 14 years of age for Senior C.
If any club has any ice issues with players then this may be submitted as well. We are trying our best to accommodate everyone.
Please remember the sooner we get your teams the sooner we can get the fixture out.

The Victorian Roller Derby League needs your help
Thriving on the energies of the 500 strong crowd, the Dead Ringer Rosies marked their territory by taking out the first bout of the roller derby season: 108 to the Toxic Avengers' 88.
Emerging crowd favourites Kitty von Krusher, Denim Destructor, G-banger and Bust Up Bambi gave the punters plenty to shout about as they hip and shouldered their way through the 2 hour bout.
Commentators Boutros Boutros Gnarly (aka John O of RRR's 'Run Like You Stole Something' fame) and Sam Pang (RRR's 'Breakfasters') provided hilarious riposte as every single skater checked into the sin bin … and the beer did flow.
With their 'skate or die' conviction, frustration got the better of the Toxic Avengers who brought proceedings to a breath taking end (literally) when Hotrod Stacy appeared to garrote the Rosies' Mandytory Punishment – with Mandytory's own helmet nonetheless!
If you love your sport hard and fast and like your women the same way, head on down to Puckhandlers on Saturday 19 April to see for yourself what it's all about.

Free ILHV Level 1 Officiating Course
The upcoming ILHV Level 1 Officiating Course will be conducted on Sunday 6th April. It is free to all participants.
All referees must be accredited and registered to officiate.
A non accredited or unregistered referee risks the players eligibility to claim for insurance as demonstrated in a case in WA where a player sustained a serious eye injury and claim rejected due to referee not having accreditation. Non accredited/unregistered referees are not covered for Professional Liability Errors and Omissions or Personal Accident insurance coverage.

Update:

There is now a damages case going through the courts for the Western Australian ILH player who was blinded in one eye with his insurance claim being rejected due to the referee not being accredited. We can not have this happening in Victoria.

Memo To ILHV Clubs
RE: Poor Sportsmanship at Games
The ILHV Board have been advised of two recent games where teams have gone out of their way to humiliate their opponents. One of the clubs has said that two of their players have quit playing as a result of the objectionable behaviour displayed by the opposing team. The outcome of the game was never in doubt, but the winning team appeared to treat the game as a joke rather than showing good sportsmanship.
This type of behaviour is unacceptable.
The ILHV Board believe that humiliating opposing teams and running up big scores against less skilled teams when the result of the game is a foregone conclusion will seriously damage the development of new inline hockey players.
